What is Microfiber and how does it benefit a missionary?
Microfiber is a man made mix of polyester and polyamide. The result is a compound that is extremely elastic. This allows fabric manufacturers to spin the material into very fine yarns. The fine yarn is then woven into fabric that has an extremely soft feel with excellent shine. Good microfiber ties are almost indistinguishable from a silk tie as they have the texture, feel, look and quality of silk. The great quality and feel, in combination with a lower price than silk, has made microfiber one of the more popular necktie materials. In addition, microfiber ties are just like polyester ties, very stain resistant and wrinkle resistant. All this makes it the perfect material for a missionary tie as well as anyone else. These ties are very durable and stain resistant. Also the color will not bleed onto your white shirts, which is ideal for any missionary serving in a hot, humid or rainy area. Note: please do not use your tie as a napkin or handkerchief. :)
How to Clean a Tie:
If you do get a stain on a microfiber tie here are some tips to get it clean. First, blot the tie with a damp tissue or handkerchief but do not rub. Rubbing the stain will push the stain into a larger area of the tie. Then, after blotting, you can use a moist washcloth to remove the rest of the stain. If the stain just refuses to come out then you can try to wash it by hand with water in a sink but never in a machine. As a last resort you can take it to a dry cleaner to have it cleaned.
