The Theft Insurance Program
Please call our toll free number 1-888-840-9165 and register the serial number on the bottom of your bike frame as promptly as possible.
The Theft Insurance Program which can be purchased with a Liahona Mountain Bike is U.S. $79.00 dollars for two years. When this program is purchased, the owner of the bike receives a heavy duty U-Lock and a companion cable lock. To securely lock your bicycle, please follow the pictorial instructions that are provided. The Theft Insurance will only come into effect if the lock we provide is cut when the bike is properly locked to a stationary object. The Theft Program will replace the stolen bike if all proper precautions are taken. These include the following: one set of Theft Insurance locks are used with only one Liahona Mountain Bike and the locks are used in the ways specified by the pictorial instructions to a stationary object. The Theft Insurance will not cover the theft if the bike is not locked, or if the bike is not locked properly to a stationary object. Locking your bike with your companion’s bike will also void the Theft Insurance.
In the event which both locks are cut, Liahona Missionary Depot will replace the bike. Validation will include the following: 1) Police report, 2) companion report, 3) evidence of the cut lock if possible, 4) the serial number on the bottom of the bike frame was registered and activated prior to theft 5) and a U.S. $200.00 dollar deductible. We will ship out the bike as soon as we have received all 5 requirements. Some missions have professional mechanics to assemble the bikes, so the extra assembly fees will also have to be provided by the missionary, or their family.
The Theft Insurance will not cover theft if the bike is not locked properly to a fixed object, or if the bike is left unattended over night. It also does not cover theft if the missionaries lock their bikes together or forget to register their serial number.
